About BELMAS

Founded more than 30 years ago, BELMAS seeks to advance the practice, teaching and study of educational management, administration and leadership in the United Kingdom, and to contribute to international developments in these areas.

BELMAS 2010 Conference is, ‘New organisations, new leadership?’

This year we have a variety of keynote speakers, and panellists for you; from Scotland we have a keynote from Don Ledingham, Executive Director of Education and Children’s Services, East Lothian; from the USA, we welcome Autumn Tooms. Autumn works at Kent State University, Ohio, and is President Elect 2010 of the University Council of Educational Administration (UCEA).

We also welcome, from England, Wes Cuell, Director of Services for Children and Families at the NSPCC in a panel discussion with Sue Robinson, Headteacher, Birmingham. We are also expecting contributors from Japan, Korea and Australia.

This year, Chair of the conference is Colin Russell, headteacher from Edinburgh, and Dorothy Moir is the conference manager as usual. We do have a change this year, in that the conference organisation will be managed overall by KC Jones. We hope to maintain our friendly conference and at the same time be even more professional in our approach!

The deadline for Paper Submissions is 20th February 2010. Submission instructions and ‘early bird’ conference registration can be found by following this link to the dedicated event website.
